WP Wordpress – CPanel Setup Installation

Setup WP Wordpress – Auto Installation Video

%post titleWhether you’re planning to add a blog to a website or creating a stand alone blog similar to this one, the procedures are more or less the same. Hopefully you already have your own hosting setup & have access to CPanel..? If not then my advice is to opt for a basic Linux hosting package with around 250mb to 300mb storage.which is ample for a new blog. Oh & by the way, the term Linux Hosting does not mean your website or blog needs to be created using Linux, it simply refers to the software that runs the server you are hosted on & is the most common option these days.

Available Options

Ok now there are a couple options available when installing  Wordpress eg you can opt for a straight forward auto install or there can be situations where a manual install is preferable, however for the sake of this article we will only cover the auto install through CPanel. For those that do not know, CPanel is the admin & control center of your hosting package, the details of which should of been given to you by your hosting company. Ok the video that follows actually shows a Wordpress setup into a sub directory called ” blog “, however the procedure is almost identical should you wish to install to your root directory ” public_html ” (usually). In fact I think the only difference is that you leave the directory box empty when filling in the details, this ensures that the software gets installed to your root directory & would create a stand alone blog exactly like this set up.

And that as they say is that, a straight forward easy setup in less than 5 minutes. If you have any questions then please feel free to post in either the comment box below or if you prefer there is a Forum on the menu bar at the top of the page.
