Hi Christi,
I’m sorry to say that Technorati seem to be experiencing some problems lately! My own attempted claim which was started on the 13th January had still not completed by the 18th of March.

Due to these problems I have cancelled my claim & plan to try again at a later date.

Thanks for the tips! I’m just now joining Technorati and going through the process. Do you know how long it typically takes for them to verify? I’m ready to take the code out of my post.

With regard to verification, the number must be placed in a “Post” according to Technorati. Once you have the post live with the number included, simply go to your profile in Technorati, scroll to the bottom of the page & click “Verify Claim”. It only takes a couple of minutes. Once you get the message verification successful, you may then remove the number & the post from your blog.

The only thing left then is to wait for Technorati to review your blog ! This can take a while depending on how busy Technorati is at the time..?

Hi Steve,

I find your post helpful because I once tried to claim my blog on Technorati and after several weeks of no changes-the process wasn’t taking place I took the verification number off.

Perhaps it was the place where I put it ?

Back to the Technorati verification number. What is the best place to put it and how long does it take for the verification process?

Hi, it’s not simply a case of how much traffic you get from Technocrati, their directory is used by other search engines also, including Google. Therefore the more times your web site crops in different places, the better. Website Grader is one site that takes into account your Technocrati ranking when grading your site, and therefore even to have a Technocrati ranking in the thousands is going to be better than no ranking at all.
