Technorati Blog Claim Pt2
Some of you may recall an article I did back in January of this year, ” How & Why To Claim Your Blog On Technorati ” This is now a follow up article that really should be entitled ” The Continuing Saga Of A Technorati Blog Claim “.
It has now been almost 8 weeks and this is now my 3rd attempt at submitting this site, using Technorati’s blog claim.
What were the problems with previous attempts..? Well your guess is as good as mine, because those very nice people at Technorati (he says with tongue in cheek) Do Not do you the courtesy of letting you know what, if anything, is the problem.
Now I am usually a pretty fair minded sort of guy, I give everyone a fair crack of the whip so to speak, but when I get told that my blog did not meet their requirements yet they do not offer any explanation as to why..? Then I’m afraid the blood pressure does start to climb just a tad.
First of all as far as I am concerned “Claiming Your Blog” is proving ownership! That is how I see it & also how Blogcatalog , MyBlogLog & numerous other sites see it. Therefore I would be truely amazed if anyone at Technorati or anywhere else for that matter can offer me any evidence what so ever to support the idea that I do not own this blog!
Secondly if my blog is lacking in some respect, which means it does not meet Technorati requirements, then common decency & good manners would dictate that an explanation should be offered to the rejected party. Hey don’t get me wrong, I aint screaming victimization here, in fact there are several people I have recently heard about that are having the exact same problems & no doubt after reading this there will be several more that add comments at the bottom of the page. (hmmm perhaps a petition)
Does Technorati Offer Any Recourse
Well I would not really call it a help, although “JuicyPeanut” (an alleged employee) does do her best and probably has to deal with many an irate blog owner. Unfortunately in order to even speak to anyone via text comments, you must first register with a site called “Get Satisfaction “, this I find quite amusing because that is the one thing you rarely get ! So far I have still not received any explanation as to why my previous submissions were unsuccessful, there were hints about links, there were hints about tags, but nothing factual.
So here I am attempting my 3rd submission process for a blog that Technorati says does not meet their requirements;
A blog that in just 6 months of being live on the internet;
1. Already has Google PR1
2. Increased it’s Alexa Rankng from 9.4 million to 316,309
3. Already has 1,611 US visitors / month
4. Has 654 page backlinks according to Yahoo
5. Has numerous top 10 listings with Google
6. Has a Compete Rank of 710,936 up 82626 on the previous month
7. Has original & not copied content (Technorati Requirement)
8. Has a fully functioning RSS feed (Technorati Requirement)
9. Is regularly updated at least monthly (Technorati Requirement)
10. The title of the blog is exactly what the blog is about “My Blog Review & Optimization” (Technorati Requirement)
So my friends stop pulling your hair out by the handful, stop banging your head against a brick wall ! You are not being singled out, you are not being victimized, you are not being thought of as a moron! It is simply that if you wish to submit & claim your blog on Technorati, then Technorati would first like to make you jump through a hoop, run around & around in ever decreasing circles, put your head between your legs & then whistle up your own arse hole! Do this and you may well make front page on Technorati, never mind succeed in claiming your blog.
