Technorati Blog Claim The Final Chapter

A Technorati Blog Claim is advisable  and  does offer benefits of increased visibility, but it has taken almost 6 months to get Technorati to accept my blog claim.

My first article on this was back in January “Technorati Blog Claim” with a follow up article early in March “Technorat Blog Claim pt2“, now at last I can finally put the finishing chapter to this long and very drawn out process.

As for what was causing the problems with my claims..? Well I guess only Technorati actually know the answer to that one & as they play their cards very close to their chest; then I guess we will never really know, although at the time they had undergone a site revamp & I wonder if  things were not working as they should have..?

Suffice to say, I was given the standard brush off several times, which basically said my blogs did not meet their guidelines, but no actual specifics were mentioned! As you can appreciate this leaves any blogger wondering which way to turn & not knowing what to do next..?

A Strategy That Seems To Have Worked!

Should you be attempting a Blog Claim with Technorati & you encounter the same obscure brush off then please try the following ;

1. Delete all claims completely

2. Wait at least 1 month ( 6 to 8 weeks is better)

3. Continue on with your blog as normal ensuring that it meets all recommended guidelines laid down by the likes of Google & above all else whatever you do, do not resort to spamming when bookmarking your blog on other sites, because if this happens you will never get accepted by Technorati.

4. Technorati Requirements are as follows;

4a. Has original & not copied content (Technorati Requirement)

4b. Has a fully functioning RSS feed (Technorati Requirement)

4c. Is regularly updated at least monthly (Technorati Requirement)

4d. The title of the blog is exactly what the blog is about (Technorati Requirement)

5. Create a new free account or sign into your previous account then access your profile page by clicking on your username , located at the top right of your screen.

8. You should now see the image above if all is going to plan..? At this point sign out of your account & perhaps go make a coffee! On return to your PC check the email account you have listed on your Technorati profile & you should have received the following;

Thank you for submitting your blog claim on Technorati. Technorati will need to verify that you are an author of the site http://www.my-blog-review.com by looking for a unique code. We have just assigned the claim token XXX464XXXXXX to this claim. Please visit http://technorati.com/account/ for more details, including how to use the claim token.

9. Sign back into your profile page at Technorati and scroll down to near the bottom again & click on “Claim Status”

10.  Simply follow the instructions above, nothing more than a new post titled “Technorati Blog Claim” then paste onto the blank page the 12 digit claim token & then publish, that is it! Now check your RSS feed to your site, usually http://www.your-domain.com/feed/ to ensure that the new post is showing. If all is well and the post is visible, then return to the Technorati page and click the verify button ONCE ONLY!

11.

Once receive the above image you can sign out of Technorati as you have completed the process and now are just required to wait!

12. You should now receive the following email from Technorati;

Thank you for submitting your blog claim on Technorati. We have successfully crawled your blog and found the claim token, and your claim is now awaiting review.

13. Now with both claims that I started on 31st May, each one completed in 2 hours or less from start to finish. Your final email from Technorati (if all has gone to plan) will be as follows;

Congratulations, your claim is now complete! Please allow 24 to 48 hours for Authority and recent posts to begin showing for your site now that it has been successfully claimed. Once they are there, we will update your site’s Authority once per day.

At first you may not see your site listed in the Technorati Blog Directory for all of the categories you’ve selected. As you write blog posts around those topics, you should see your Topical Authority in those categories begin to rise.

That my friends is all that is required! It has been a real headache believe me, but at long last even if it has taken close to 6 months to complete, I finally have 2 blogs listed on Technorati.
