Keywords – Best Usage & Placement
When we are talking about keywords optimization, we are not just talking about the keywords Meta Tag & when we discuss SEO we are not just refering to the act of getting listed in search engines for the most obscure term you can dream up ! No my friends, good keyword research, keywords optimization & SEO , should all equate to correct keyword usage & placement. Good quality SEO should be a continuous process, designed to keep pushing your website or blog to the forefront in terms of web visibility & targeted traffic.
Your First Paragraph Sets The Theme
Now by looking at the first paragraph, you can see quite clearly that I have used the terms “Keywords Optimization”, “Keywords Research” & “SEO” at least twice hahaha in fact counting this paragraph it now makes it 3 times each! Is this spamming or keyword stuffing..? Of course not, I am writing for you the audience & not the search engine bots / crawlers.
Keywords Placement
The point being you should always include your most important keywords in your first paragraph, your last paragraph & of course in any headings ! This serves to set the theme for the page as it were, so your search engine bots have no trouble at all in deciding what this post is all about. In fact if you think of your keywords as markers or flags, then you will not go far wrong, because really that is all they are.
Confusion Over keywords
Now I know there are a few of you out there, that are a little confused since Google’s announcement that it no longer recognises the keywords meta tag, so why all the fuss you ask…? Well the problem is when we speak of keywords, we are not just refering to the now obsolete meta tag, we are also refering to keyword placement on the page. I will still use the keywords meta tag but usually stick to my 5 or 10 strongest words or phrases. The rest of the words I glean from research will be used on various articles throughout this site.
iNove As An Example
A good example of this is the term ” iNove 1.4.6 “, this is the name of a theme I mentioned a few weeks ago & although I did not think about placement or optimizing at the time, Google has actually picked up on this term & has ranked the relevant page at #9. This also proves the importance of your alt image tag, as I know there is a screen shot of this theme with iNove 1.4.6 as the alt tag.
To Summarize
Clearly by the latest ranking results we can see that our keyword research, keywords optimization & of course our on page SEO has paid of in as much as we now have a few top ten listings with Google , Yahoo & several other search engines. The next step now is going to be a continuation as far as content writing goes, but also turn our attention towards some traffic generating tactics, including a small spend of $100 on Googles AdWords.
