Blog Review Submissions
Ok everyone, if your on this page, then the hard part is done finally ! Hopefully you have a blog review ready to read in the comment box below.
We have decided to post the reviews on this separate page simply because if ever we happen to get busy, then it could get chaotic trying to track who’s review is who’s & who has & has not submitted their details on the other page.
Note: The following format will be used when pasting your reviews in the comment box below.
1. The URL for the blog I reviewed at the top of the page.
2. Then the text of your review.
3. Finally my name & the URL of my blog at the bottom of the page. This is to remain intact should you wish to post the review on your own site.
Hopefully once we get everything running smoothly, we are planning to run a monthly poll, whereby members can vote for what they consider are the best blogs of any particular month. These blogs will then get displayed on the front page of this website, in a sliding feature box. These will be on display for the following month and will then be replaced by the next months winners. This is just our way of giving our members some increased visibility for their blogs & in recognition of their efforts.

Hi J.P.
Yes those figures are quite reasonable for 4 months, lets hope it continues to improve.
This is a very topical subject as you are probably aware & for your average person in the street to be able to get an insiders view as it were, will work in your favour.
As I said previously, give some thought to self hosting & I’m sure you will not be disappointed.
Thanks for that Steve…….After four months I`m averaging 50-60 daily visitors each reading 2-3 pages so can`t be doing too bad. Have increased font size and blackness.

Well mylud,
I perused the afore mentioned website & was dismayed to find that it is actually a sub-domain of blog.co.uk
this, as I have pointed out previously, prevents me from doing a thorough analysis of your blog. SORRY
However I did enjoy the articles & the intelligent points of view, although I did find the contrast a tad annoying at times (pale text on white background)
I would give some serious thought to going self hosted as I think you have a niche here that would attract a lot of interest & traffic if properly setup & promoted.
Sorry I can’t give you more – Steve

Hi Annie,
Ok now unfortunately due to the fact that your blog is not self hosted, but is a sub directory of Googles Blogger, then I am very limited in what I can tell you.
However there are two points that struck me,
1. you have your sidebar positioned on the left..? This is a bad idea on any site wishing to attract traffic / customers. The problem lies in the way the search engines read a page, they read top to bottom & left to right, therefore your entire sidebar will be read & your page judged on the content of your sidebar, before the search engines reach your content.
2. This blog is without doubt feminine & that is also your target viewer, therefore I feel the use of the colour green is not in keeping with your blogs theme.

If you click the obove link, you will see a different version of your page, one I think would be more appealing to your target audience.
I personally think your idea is great, my wife would love to have a couple of your designs, but if you wish to make this work, you really need to look at self hosting instead of free hosting & I would suggest using WordPress as your blogging platform.
I know to many people, the cost of hosting can be a problem, but here at M.B.R we are currently working on offering an assortment of hosting
packages for bloggers. The cheapest of these packages is probably going to be priced around $2.95 /month & will be payable on a monthly basis via paypal.
I really think there is potential for your idea, but you are going to have to decide whether or not to commit fully to this blog site, by doing everything in your power to brand it and push it forward. For as long as you stay on Blogspot I am afraid you will remain buried under thousands of other sites, simply because optimization is just not possible.
