Blog Money & Infolinks In Text Advertising

Blog Money is not always easy to come by, although there are quite a variety of companies more than happy to offer you ways to monetize your web sites & pages.

“Infolinks In Text Advertising” is one such company, they use you as a publisher & place their adverts on your site, but how do we choose a good company to help monetize our web pages & what should we avoid when trying to choose a good partner..?

Infolinks is one such company, they specialize in what is called “in-text ads” & on the face of it they would seem the ideal choice for most bloggers, especially as they do make the setup suprisingly easy, requiring hardly any knowledge of coding. However, as they say, ” every silver lining has a cloud “, so before you rush off and sign up with Infolinks, lets just look at the pros & cons !

The Points For Infolinks:

1. In text advertising requires no additional space on your pages as they highlight your own keywords & use these to create hyperlinks, usually double underlined in green if using default settings.

2. Ease of use & initial setup, there really isn’t anything that I have found to be easier!

3. Payments made to Paypal & a low $50.00 threshold ” Nice Blog Money & Infolinks In Text Advertising

4. Once your account is setup, you may add aditional websites to your account.

Mousing over any of the links will produce a pop up window as shown & the content of which is supposed to be relevant to the keyword used as the link !

The Points Against Infolinks:

Ok now as with everything else in life, you are never given the whole picture, so here is my twopeneth worth on Infolinks.

1. Whilst it may just be a few small lines of code that you add to your footer of your website, it ultimately ends up as several lines of code in the header accourding to Yslow, who repeatedly highlight this code as slowing down your page load! I would therefore advise against adding this to your homepage.

3. Their algorythm seems to have a nasty habit of ignoring such high value words as WordPress, Themes & Plugins and instead chooses to focus on catch22, buttons, and other such non descriptive terms. Is this due to the Algorythm or simply that Infolinks does not have sufficient advertisers to cover these keywords..?

4. Whilst you may freely check at anytime on the stats of your account, you will very likely find that it does not tie in with Google Analytics or indeed AWS stats in CPanel, the main reason for this appears to be that their stats tend to run 2 days behind everthing else.

5. Are they really the highest payers..? Well if we are talking in parts of cents then quite possibly they are, but I don’t think earning $5.00 in a month is any reason to throw a party hahaha. ($5.00 is what I earned in the first month..?)

The Verdict On Infolinks

For anyone that has unfortunately been banned from Google’s Adsense, Infolinks is an excellent alternative if used wisely & placed strategically on your website or blog. Infolinks will never compare to the likes of a decent affiliates program & to be fair, that is not it’s target audience, however it can very easily match up to the low end earnings of most Adsense users & does so far easier than inserting blocks of adsense code everywhere. Therefore I think Infolinks is worth trying out for most bloggers, but please bear in mind that the higher your monthly visitor count, the more you are likely to earn & the lower your monthly visitors are, the less you will earn. It is simply a law of averages, put any advert in front of sufficient people and sooner or later you will find a buyer..?
