Top 10 Ranking Ending The Year On A High Note !

Well friends Christmas is almost upon us, time to chill out for a week or so, take a well earned rest, eat too much food, drink to much wine & ponder the ups & downs of the last 3 months since this blog went live!

Of course it has not been plain sailing (it never is) & although there has not been much written on the trials & tribulations of trying to get this blog a top 10 ranking with the search engines, the struggle has continued, albeit behind the scenes.

So lets quickly recap

Although the domain name was actually purchased on 25th Nov 2008, it was parked untill 3rd Sept 2009 which is when it was first submitted to the search engines. So by the 3rd of January 2010 the site will be 4 months old.

My original goal was to try & show you, (using this site as a test case), how to obtain a top 10 ranking with Google, without paying out a single cent! This goal I had set turned out to be easier than expected and the top 10 rankings with Google & other search engines just came flooding in. Hey don’t get me wrong here, it was still bloody hard work, in fact some days (believe it or not), I would do a straight 24hrs at my laptop!

How my Wife puts up with this is beyond me, but God bless here she does, without any griping or moaning, she’s constantly back & forth with coffee, cigs, meals & when she thinks I’ve had enough of the computer, she will fetch a small bottle of Tanduay (Philippines Rhum). She knows of course that after spending a long time at the computer, the Rhum will have the effect of a strong sleeping tablet & knock me out hahaha clever girl eh..?

The current situation with the blog..?

Well my friends I ran my last ranking check last night whilst I slept & the results are looking pretty good.

The above screen shot shows a total of 427 listings with various search engines

This 2nd screen shot shows that out of the 427 listings, 396 are actually in the top 10 !

Now I do realise that to those that do not know how difficult it can be to get a decent listing for your web pages, this can all seem quite easy & fairly trivial, I mean 396 top 10 listings in just over 3 months, easy peasy eh..? Ahm actually NO! it is far from easy;

This last screen shot covers a two month period & shows what the SEO boys refer to as the Google dance ! In just a 2 month period this listing has been completely dropped 7 times! Now if you multiply this by the number of articles & the number of keywords, you can maybe then understand just how stressful this can be when you don’t understand what is happening. Add to this the hassle of having to change hosting companies & having to contend with the idiots that seem to think that plagerising your titles and keywords will get them a top ranking also & it is easy to see why I have repeatedly said, if I had any hair I would be ripping it out by the handful !

Ah but it is time now to unwind, Christmas is upon us & it only remains for me to wish you all;
