BD DVD – Blu Ray Live
I do not know if it is also a common trend out there, but Blu Ray players are sold at huge discounted prices. If you think that it is time to get one of these players since the price is now that low. Think again. There’s actually a newer Blu Ray concept that contains the new feature called Blu Ray BD Profile 2.0. If you get an old player without these functions, you will not be able to start those features in the new Blu Ray discs. But I believe those old players should still be able to play the movie.
What is Blu Ray BD Profile? You might be curious and puzzled. This is a new concept created by Sony in order to start a new wave of adoption for the Blu Ray discs. Ask yourself, is there any huge difference between Blu Ray discs and a DVD? , apart from having a larger capacity of 25 gig per layer as compared to a DVD with only 4.7 Gig per layer, we all know that it is only a matter of better clarity in the movie itself.
What if you are not a sharp eyed eagle who can’t be bothered with the bits of extra detail in the movie such as the sweat from the forehead or the mist from the mouth of the actor. Would you buy a Blu Ray disc and player at extra cost?. I won’t .
Initially, we have VCDs which had a flaw of pixelated images if you play it in large 29 inch screens. Thus DVD came to the market and brought even clearer movie to large screens without exposing the flaws in the image. But screens got larger and DVDs quality video could not get pass the 42 inch limit. The video quality is even worse if you use projectors, since projectors became common and affordable. Thus there is a need for Blu Ray technology which brings High Definition video concept for huge screens. But in reality, how many families can really afford a screen larger than 42 inches. Not about price, but about putting such a huge panel in a small house. Thus the sales of Blu Ray hit rock bottom.
New players and Blu Ray Discs now come with extra features known as the BD Live functionality that allows the user to get online to download the latest trailers or chat with flim makers. This means that the disc is not sold with static data. This new Blu Ray BD profile is also the disc that will be ready for the new standard in 3 D playback for home TV. If you think you might have to wait long, these new Blu Ray BD Profile players will hit the shelves in the next few months. There’s even better BD players that allow internet connectivity, but only limited to surfing to the contents and links from the disc itself. These new players even have USB ports so that you can hook up flash thumb drives to allow the download of movie trailers.
Just take a look at some of the players that are already out there.
These Blue Ray BD profile discs will take a while to load even in new players. So it will be a great idea to bring one of these new Blu Ray BD DVDs when you are making your purchase. Test them on site , so if you are not impressed with the loading speed, try another model.
