Diary Update 22-09-09
Well it’s been a busy week, due to problems with a theme on 2 of my other websites & as if that wasn’t enough to drive a man to drink, there were also other problems with the MyBlogLog recent reader widget conflicting with other widgets & what makes matters even worse, the damned thing has stopped updating for some obscure reason. Anyway with regard to the MBL Widget, I have emailed them to try and find out what’s going on & also to see if there is a known remedy…? In the meantime however I have had to remove this widget from all 3 websites, not much point in having it, if it does not do what it is supposed to do!

As for the progress with “My Blog Review“, I must say I am very happy with the situation so far, in fact I would go as far as to say it is doing much better than expected considering it has only been 19 days since I submitted it to the search engines for the first time!
Running Ranking Checks
I use various bits of software to do ranking checks etc & this time I used the free version of Web CEO 7. About the most annoying thing I find with this free version, is the fact you can only run a ranking check on a maximum of 5 keywords or phrases at any one time. However, the object of this exercise is to try and get a website (this site) ranked well enough to earn a few bucks & not to spend large wads of cash in doing so & believe me, most SEO software that I have come across runs at hundreds of dollars for the full versions.

Ok so the current situation with “My Blog Review” is, the site is listed 43 times in the top 50 & of those 50 listings, 24 are in the top 10 which my friends is exactly what we are aiming for ! However lets not get to excited just yet, you see this ranking is for keywords I just picked out of thin air, there was no keyword research done initially & although there are 24 listings in the top 10, the keywords in question, do not have particularly high search quotas. But it is a positive start & hopefully after doing a little keyword research & some adjustments to the posts, there should be continued improvement.
